KTDF is excited to present a performance from the legendary and early genre forming band, Death Strike! Performing in full their classic 1985 demo album “Fuckin’ Death” at this year’s celebration of death!
Formed by Paul Speckmann back in 1984 after he experienced difficulties starting Master, Death Strike began with some of the early songs from the first attempts of Master. Joined by guitarist Chris Mittlebrun, the two wrote more Death Strike songs and recorded the now legendary 4 track demo “Fuckin’ Death”. In 1991 (after the band broke up and continued as Master) the tracks were released as an album by Nuclear Blast, with the addition of 4 extra songs recorded just before the recording of Master’s second album “On the 7th Day God created…” in 1990.
The demo is known to have influenced a young Death Metal “icon” Chuck Shuldiner, and several more to follow, and has undoubtedly become an important early work in Death Metal history. ‘’Fuckin’ Death’’ has helped mold the whole genre, both in its early formative years and still to this date.
So on stage at Kill-Town Death Fest 2013, for the second time in recent history, Paul Speckmann & co will perform Death Strike songs exclusively on stage! Those who attended KTDF last year will remember the two Death Strike songs performed by Master during their set, but this year we offer you the whole “Fuckin’ Death” experience!
