Waldo & Marsha is an 8-piece band, whose roots are tied to the early 90'ties' indie and shoegaze scenes with influence from bands such as Slowdive and Cocteau Twins. Beneath the massive wall of noisy guitars and icy synths lie the strong melodic songs just waiting to shine through. It's this mix of the distanced wall of sound and the melodic pop tunes, which creates Waldo & Marshas remarkable sound. These qualities impressed the Danish label 'Speed Of Sound' at Waldo & Marsha's concert at Spot Festival 2011 and signed the young band shortly after the concert.
The band's first single "Made You" was very well received by the critics and the radio, making its way directly to the top of the biggest Danish chart for new and alternative music on the national radio channel P3. Subsequently Waldo & Marsha released their debut EP titled "Smiling At The Ground", which received brilliant reviews in all the biggest music magazines in Denmark as well as newspapers. The band is currently working on their debut album, which will be released in the beginning of 2013.
Behind Carlis is the 19-year-old Carl Emil. Creating simple yet almost arctic cold sounds in looped electronic soundscapes. (similar to the Taragana Pyjarama). There are no Apple laptop lights but a sampler, floppy disks and a lot of other old gear which is probably old, but still too young to be vintage.
