It’s the year 2002...Surfmusic is not exactly the fashion of the day. Some nostalgic guys in Hawaiian shirts still play it, but most people think it’s this weirdo thing that was invented by the Beach Boys or Quentin Tarantino.
Besides that, they couldn’t care less...It’s the new millennium, times are rough and they have to listen to this ultra-cool loungey electro groove track immediately....Some young guys think that’s not OK at all. Faraway from the sun, the ocean and the beach, in Wiesbaden/Germany, they decide to add their own chapter to the book that was written by Dick Dale and his fellows. By putting twangy guitars, punk power and melodies as big in the ocean in the shaker, they create a musical cocktail that makes you move your feet in double speed and dance like a madman. Six months later their first album is in the can and THE RAZORBLADES start touring.
Copenhagen, Denmark. Not the most likely place for a band to emerge with the obvious surfing pedigree of EL RAY. The band show a versatility of sound and an ear for catchy, toe tapping melody which takes them beyond the cliches that can often be associated with the surfing genre. Combining a fresh, modern style with a healthy nod to the past, 'surf with a twist' EL RAY have managed to achieve a new, classic sound.
