TOTAL HEELS
ETotal Heels. Two Danes and one American rubbernecker playing some weird breed of UN-approved punk rock. Imagine the Stooges fronted by Jarvis Cocker and you're close. No filler. No slogans. Definitely not more kids singing about beer. This is punchy garage rock for the thinking man. Formed in 2012, Jason, Jacob and Jeppe came together around a raw batch of solid pop songs and an organ to cover the low end. No gimmicks, no catch, barely enough rehearsals to keep up with the windfall of ideas and songs that kept coming. Just gritty guitars and freight train rhythms with an obvious nod to contemporaries like Tyvek or Eddy Current Suppression Ring. Lyrically dense, these songs sweat and stare and laugh with wry observation and back alley soul. But more than anything, Total Heels is that sound of a friendship found in the international DIY underground. The trio's debut due later this year is for lovers and rockers and expat punks worldwide.
