The Orange Grove & Loppen present: The Band’s ”The Last Waltz” - 40 year anniversary concert

I år er det 40 år siden The Band gik på scenen og med en række ”speciel guests” sagde tak for denne gang. Koncerten foregik på Winterland Ballroom, San Francisco i 1976 , og blev instrueret og optaget af filminstruktøren Martin Scorsese, der udgav den som koncertfilmen ”The Last Waltz”. En film, der efterhånden har opnået kultstatus rundt omkring i verden.
Nu er der mulighed for at opleve og fejre The Band og deres musik, når danske The Orange Grove og Jonas Munch Christensen byder velkommen til en helt unik genopførsel af denne legendariske koncert i Loppens unikke og stemningsfulde omgivelser!
Neil Young, Eric Clapton, Dylan og de andre kunne desværre ikke komme. Til gengæld har husbandet inviteret en anden række ”special guests” - nemlig et udpluk af Danmarks mest talentfulde sangere og sangskrivere. Med The Orange Grove vil de alle fremføre sange fra ”The Last Waltz” som har betydet meget for netop dem.

This year it’s been 40 years since The Band invited a list of special guests onstage and made their farewell concert appearance. The show was set at Winterland Ballroom in San Francisco in 1976 and directed and filmed by Martin Scorsese who put it out as ”The Last Waltz”. A picture that has now reached cult status around the world.
Now the chance is here to enjoy and celebrate The Band and their music when Danish band The Orange Grove and Jonas Munch Christensen offer a unique reenactment of this legendary concert at venue Loppen’s  unique and vibrant surroundings!
Unfortunately Neil Young, Eric Clapton, Dylan and the other guys couldn’t make it. Anyway the house band has invited another list of ”special guests” – that is a selection of Denmark’s most talented singers and songwriters. Together with The Orange Grove they will perform songs of ”The Last Waltz” that meant a lot to them.
